Small birds like a place to cuddle up

Did you know that small birds 🐦 like to have a "nest" or place to snuggle up and nap. These can be something like a woven grass ball, leather tent, perch with 3 acrylic sides or a coconut shell with a hole in it. (Fabric huts I believe should be avoided)The most common small birds this applies to are finches, budgies, love birds and conures.

Parrots Taste!!

Parrots taste with the tops of their beaks Though parrots do have some taste glands at the backs of their throats, most of their 300 or so taste buds are located on the roofs of their mouths. Compared with the 10,000 taste buds in a human mouth, the birds palate may not seem like much, but parrots do show definite preferences for certain foods.

Vitamin D is important

Did you know that sunlight is the best source of vitamin D for your parrots? Vitamin D comes in pelleted parrot food but it also comes from the sun. If your house has lots of windows try putting a bird stand or your birds cage by it so they get sun light shining on them. If you don't have a lot of windows you can you a light called Avian Sun, this light makes it so your can bring the "sun" inside. Another way is if you live in a area where it is between 70 degrees F and 85 degrees F then you can bring your bird outside with you but always make sure that you have your bird...

Variety is key for a healthy parrot!

In order to have a balanced diet for your feathered friends, you should feed a variety of different foods. Variety is key for a healthy parrot. Seeds should only be part of the diet no more than 30% off the entire diet. Freeze dried or fresh veggies and fruit should also be at least 15% of the diet (More veggies rather than fruit should be fed) A high-quality pellet should also be fed that should take at least 40% of the diet. Nuts, spices and herbs should also be fed but only 10% of the diet. Remember variety is key so rotating what you feed is important.
